Now in its sixth year, the Westminster Conservatory Youth Opera Workshop provides young people in the Delaware Valley with the opportunity to experience all facets of opera and theatrical production.  From singing on stage, to accompanying, to working on sets, props, costumes, lighting, and sound, WCYOW students learn just what it takes to stage a show!  For many workshop students, a WCYOW production is a first exposure to opera.  The rewards (and the fun!) that they receive from participation guarantee it won't be their last.

2008 Schedule:

The WCYOW will present the world premiere of "Pandora's Box" a new comic youth opera loosely based on the classic Greek myth and featuring the lively music of Jacques Offenbach (Orpheus in the Underworld, La Perichole, and other works). Auditions for the program will be held May 6 and 7 of 2008 and performances will take place July 24-27. Students age 8-18 are welcome to participate, no experience is required.  For more information contact the Westminster Conservatory at (609)-921-7104 and ask for information on the summer camps.  Or visit the Westminster Conservatory website.  You can also download the Summer Camp brochure and registration materials at http://www.rider.edu/887_1116.htm or see our auditions page.
